Brown/Trinity Updates

I recently finished up my first year of graduate school! I am the first mama to ever go through the Brown/Trinity MFA Acting program. This year has been challenging. The schedule is no joke. Our weeks are Monday-Saturday and our days, when in production, are typically 9a-9p. Without the support of my husband and my parents Iā€™m not sure how I would be able to attend this program. I am eternally grateful for their support.

I found out I was pregnant with my second child while understudying A Christmas Carol at Trinity Repertory as part of my curricular duties. I performed a handful of times. So this baby, due in early August, has already had an opportunity to be on stage. To finish up the semester I performed in an adaptation of The Taming of the Shrew and Hamlet, named The Taming of Hamlet. This production was directed by, recent graduate of the directing program, Andrew Watring. During this production I was between my second and third trimesters of my pregnancy. This was my first time performing a show, a highly physical show, while REALLY pregnant. It was an experience I will never forget. When we had our final performance, I remember a great wave of feelings rush over me. I felt accomplished and proud, but also relieved that my body/and growing babe could take a breather for a bit.

It was a tremendous year of learning, bonding, and struggle. I did it all while raising a 2-year-old, the love of my life.

I will be taking the next year off from the program, but will be back in the Fall of 2024 to continue my studies!
