Lucky 88 by Marcus Yi

ZOOM readings of musicals are fun and challenging! I had the pleasure of playing Fan Fan Xiu in a developmental reading of Marcus Yi’s new commission, Lucky 88. I was able to work with actors whom I have had the pleasure of working with before and some whom I have admired for a long time!

Production was directed by Dev Bondarin.

Mommy Milk Cafe at SPF

Mommy Milk Cafe is a short 10-minute play I wrote during quarantine. It was selected to be read this Summer in The Players Theatre Short Play Festival. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the festival will take place on-line over Zoom. I am thrilled to present this short piece of writing.

Four female-identifying humans, two groups of two friends, enjoy fancy lattes at a trendy NYC cafe. Tension builds as each group believes the other is talking about them. Everything comes to a standstill as one of the women moves to make things right. The cast features four female identifying characters. My vision is that the women are between 20-35 in age, but this is a loose guideline. There is one supporting character, the barista, who I encourage to be any age and any gender identity.

Michael Learns to Rock - Fredericia Theatre in Denmark

Had a blast working with an amazing team (Rob Hartmann, Joe Barros, Gillian Berkowitz) of talented humans for a developmental reading of Michael Learns to Rock! A jukebox musical featuring the tunes of Danish band Michael Learns to Rock. It was so cool to meet the band members who attended the presentation!
